Review: Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Nectar

I have a confession to make. After years of loving to wear the original Flowerbomb and rating it up
there with the most glorious fragrances I've come across (even owning the body lotion), I've fallen out of the love with it somewhat... It's still a comforting, sensual, beautiful scent, but it's so popular that I seem to be smelling it everywhere.

When the flanker, Bloom came out last year, I purchased it with my Boots Advantage points. This sweet, airy rendition of Flowerbomb is, I have to say, very lovely. I reviewed it against the original here, but needless to say, it is an enchanting Spring/ Summer scent which is not just a poor imitation of the original masterpiece. Nectar is equally as well done and I had to have it after I sprayed it on myself in a department store and was left with the ghost of it for many, many hours afterwards. As I had sprayed quite a few different things on myself that day, I was charmed to find that the distinctive Flowerbomb jasmine sambac and patchouli marriage at its heart shined through. It was a comforting, warm blend which made me realise that despite the original being frustratingly overplayed, I still absolutely love the blend of heart notes.

Limited Edition: Byredo Bibliotheque Eau de Parfum Review

Byredo is a Swedish fragrance brand which is very popular amongst lovers of niche perfume. The Bibliotheque candle has been standing pride of place by my bedside bookshelf for months and I have just recently started to burn it. At a premium price tag, Byredo is a brand of pure indulgence; the fragrances are generally unique although having sampled quite a few scents, I feel that Byredo has some notes that it uses across many of its perfumes, giving the brand somewhat of a signature scent that runs through the line.

Bibliotheque is the most popular candle, therefore it has been made into a 'Collector's Edition' fragrance available in 100ml only. I wanted to talk through the reasons why I decided to spend out on the perfume and how it translates on the skin, at least from my own experience.

Flowerbomb Vs. Flowerbomb Bloom

If you've read my recent post, 5 Iconic Beauty Products, I mention Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb as my iconic fragrance pick. I recently decided to splurge my Boots Advantage card points on 30ml of Flowerbomb Bloom as it sounded marvellous and when I tried it and walked around for a few hours with it on my skin, I couldn't resist. To help people who own the original and are considering Bloom, or those who can't decide between which to buy, here are my thoughts.
