Sunday Face, featuring the Naked Basics 2 palette!

One of my favourite things about Sundays is that I can take my time over my make-up. Does anyone else enjoy the ritual of applying their 'face' in bed? I love nothing more than watching some Youtube or Netflix and taking some time over my routine. In the week that never happens: it's a manic rush against time to make myself look less corpse-like at 6am!

So against the backdrop of my duvet, above are some products I like to use as part of my natural, not-really-doing-much make-up routine. Enjoy!
After prepping my face with my useful skincare faves: Sarah Chapman's Skinesis anti-aging day cream and Nude's Advanced Eye Complex, I reached for some products I love.

I haven't used Bourjois' Healthy Mix serum foundation for a while, but after applying it I think I'll be wearing it next week to work because the glow it gave my skin was lovely. I forgot how nice a product it is and how great it applies onto my dry skin.

Under the eyes, my dark circles are pretty rife at the moment! Laura Mercier's Secret Concealer was my heavy duty choice. It is a creamy formula which doesn't tend to crease if well blended. I use a fluffy Real Techniques brush (I can't remember what it's called, but you can see in the picture that it is perfect for diffusing heavier creams. Let's be real, my circles do not completely disappear with this (or any) concealer, but I refuse to pack on so much that it settles into my lines!

For eyes, the new Naked Basics 2 palette by Urban Decay is an absolute dream. I love the original palette and this new one is just as good if not better. The lightest colour, Skimp, is far more wearable for an all over wash of colour than Foxy from the original Naked Basics. These colours are both yellow-toned, but Skimp is more peachy and gives a lovely sheen to the eyelids- Foxy is matte. To add definition, I tried out Cover (a mid matte brown) in the crease. Once blended, it was a very natural and pretty eye look- perfect for a Sunday.

I much favour grey or brown eyeliner to black; it looks natural, put together, but never harsh. I used Lancome's  Le Crayon Kohl in Silver. I like this liner very much and it is not overly pearlized, but not matte or too dark. For mascara, I used L'oreal's Volume Million Lashes Excess which gives great volume and length.

To complete the look I used my beautiful Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion, a beautiful glowy peach. I powdered my face lightly with By Terry's Hyaluronic Hydra Powder- kind of a secret weapon to make skin look smooth and (if I do say so myself!), lovely!

After that, I drunk some tea and wrote a blog post- what a perfect start to the day!
