A Photo a Day #151

Creepy Creek

Of course I had some fun bringing out the red and blue here! It reminded me of being a kid jumping across this stream to cross it. The rope swing is also reminiscent of one me and my best friend found as young teenagers and the raucous laughter that followed when she fell in and we saw her trainer flow upstream! Good times.

Wild Horses

A family of wild horses in the New Forest. They are not at all worried about humans; as you drive through they graze right by the roadside in large groups.

Trip to the Coast

Two sets of people walking towards Southsea beach. This was taken on manual and clearly over-exposed, but with some filtering it does reflect the hot sunny weather and some interesting shadows are cast.

Divine

This was an incredible show even though poor Neil was unwell and a tad croaky. We are going to see The Divine Comedy again in December- that'll be the third time in little more than a year!

Train Journeying

Today's photo was taken on my phone a few months ago. I've always loved travelling by train; listening to music to the views out of the window is one of my favourite things. It is a very freeing thing for me where I can be my true introvert self.

Local Shop

It's blatantly obvious to me now that I have an interest in photographing shop fronts; having started this project at the start of the year, it has been one of the range of reoccurring subject matters.

This one was taken in Brighton. The newsagents stood out due to its traditional character- something that is appealing in an ever-changing world, but also offers a wistful tone to photos.

A Photo a Day #138

Underground

Not the perfect shot, but the best of a couple taken on this occasion. I think the tubes are ripe for photography projects, but a challenging environment to take photos; people don't like to make eye contact, let alone have a camera in their face.

Thieves Operate In This Area

This sign is actually pretty redundant.

My boyfriend and I were happily strolling along the pier, minding our own business, munching on some delicious churros, when he was mugged by a seagull. The gull in question swooped down and aggressively snatched a churro out of my partner's hand before it even got to his mouth. I felt like a modern day Tippi Hedren in that moment, minus the bouffant.

City Strolling

I've mentioned this before, but one of the pleasing outcomes of choosing to post a photo every day is that you discover areas of interest in your photography. I've taken a few photos of people walking under scaffolding or underpasses; perhaps it's the framing element that I find interesting as an image.

Blue Flowers

Some beautiful blue flowers in the grounds of Brighton Pavilion- I looked it up and these appear to be Green Alkanet.
