A Photo a Day #182

Morris Power

I like this image but I wish I had been just a bit taller to get more of the sky in. Nevertheless, these Morris dancers looked great and had a 'steam punk' vibe to their image. I could have taken pictures of them all day!

Molly

I actually got a bit more brave last weekend and asked this lovely lady for a photo. I saw her sat like this on the wall and thought she would be an amazing subject for a photo. A female Morris dancer is known as a 'Molly', hence the name of the photo. For convenience, I didn't shoot this in manual and sadly the aperture was too small to blur the background in the original shot. I didn't want to risk getting a poor shot or taking too much of the lady's time. I therefore had to apply my Photoshop skills to get the blur. In hindsight, I probably should have taken the time to shoot manually...

Morris With Me

These fierce Morris dancers from Somerset had amazing individual touches to their outfits, including masks. It looks like it's 'Morris Week' on the blog as The Poole Quay Folk Festival was amazing subject matter this weekend.

Morris On

Today I went to Poole Quay where they were holding a folk music festival. Traditional Morris dancers were out in their droves and were a fabulous opportunity for photography. I took 276 pictures today!

Sun-dancing

This was taken less than an hour ago at Gosport seafront. It was one of those rare times when everything aligned itself for a great shot. A little cropping and a small amount of brightening was all I did to the image in editing.

Squirrel in South Park

I took this photo a few years ago now, but I still think it's a decent shot. It was taken in Bournemouth's South Park.

Making the Most of It

It was nice to see quite  few beach hut owners out and enjoying the small amount of sunshine we were having a few weeks ago. The contradiction of the sky and the woman's optimistic clothing was something I drew together in post production. I kind of like the bleak quality.

In the Penny Arcade

We always went to the amusement arcades as children and happily spent time winning and losing, losing and winning on the 2p slots. Some people are children forever!

Dig Deep

This is a real blast for the past for me, harking back to memories of local fetes where the 'Lucky Dip' was always an exciting prospect for a child. We were easily pleased back then.

Curbed

When in an amusement arcade: take photos. I'm not sure what this is called, but if you're a comedy fan, you might get the reference in the title.

Maisie & Kevin

Maisie has had her little toy mouse, Kevin, since she was about 9 weeks old. She loves carrying him in her mouth and playing with him.

Cuckoo Spit
I believe this is cuckoo spit- froth created by Froghopper Nymphs- but I am not sure as it usually is not so beautifully transparent.

Pollen

You're going to see a few macro nature photos in early June as I went for an evening stroll and got lucky capturing some nice images. As usual, any tips would be much appreciated.
