My pencil eyeliner picks

Today is the day I am posting about ten pencil eyeliners I use on a regular basis.

Avon Glimmerstick in Saturn Grey is a twist-up pencil which imparts a strong charcoal grey colour if applied heavily, but can be smoked out for a more subtle alternative to black. For me, black eyeliner has its time and place, but a grey can be worn anytime, anywhere. I much prefer it to black. This a great, affordable and long-lasting alternative to Mac or Urban Decay.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencils come in a beautiful range of colours from the playful to the pretty. Zero is a classic matte black which is great for lining the upper and lower lids. Rockstar is another great shade. It is a shimmery dark purple which can really make green eyes stand out without being too over the top. Underground is a colour you can see I have used a lot. Urban Decay describe it as a metallic taupe- a truly beautiful colour on the lower waterline that goes with any make-up look. Finally, Mushroom is a slightly newer edition to my collection. It is a 'taupe-pewter shimmer' according to Urban Decay and I would agree, except the shimmer is not highly visible. These eyeliners last all day on me with only slight colour transfer on the outer corners of my eyes (a problem I have with any eyeliner I've used).

Mac Powerpoint eye pencils are long-lasting and come in some nice shades. Grey Utility is a dark grey which I have gotten a lot of use from. Duck obviously drew me in with the name (I adore ducks!), but also the shade description being 'a soft grey brown'. It is matte and extremely versatile. Buried Treasure is a blackish brown with some subtle gold shimmer. I prefer the other two shades I own, but this is a good one for evening.

Lancome La Crayon Khol in Silver was an impulse purchase on Boots.com where I wanted to pick up a a free gift or Advantage Card points for the cheapest possible spend (cheeky me!). I'm actually really happy I took a chance with this and I don't own anything exactly the same. It is a subtle grey-silver with a metallic sheen that looks great on the waterline and stays there. It is not quite as creamy as the Urban Decay liners, but definitely on a par with Mac.

Mac Eye Kohl in I Get No Kick is a limited edition metallic champagne liner- great for inner corner highlight; in my opinion, not amazing for lining the waterline unless blended. It is a nice pencil to own, but not a must-have. I have included it in my postto add a bit of variety and it may be a re-release one day, in which case a swatch is ready and waiting to be gawped at!
