Review: Bourjois City Radiance Skin Protecting Foundation SPF30

Any product with the words 'radiance' and 'SPF30' immediately get my attention. Pretty pastel pink packaging also helps. The Bourjois City Radiance foundation is a fairly new release and one that I think would be lovely for the Spring into Summer. The colour I chose was the 01 Rose Ivory- a light shade for cool-toned skin. It's a good match for me, but how much coverage and radiance can this so-called foundation really offer?

Left: no make-up; right: City Radiance only
You can see the results for yourself- it does indeed offer some coverage, albeit light. I didn't find it very buildable and also it showed up some dry patches on my nose, even though it was not very thick. It did require some blending because it is deceivably pigmented (it is packaged more like a tinted moisturiser). As you can see, it lightens my freckles, but still lets my skin show through. It did impart some radiance, but no glitter or silly sparkle.

Overall, it is a nice option for a fresh-faced look. It isn't too greasy, so may work well on combination to oilier skin; for my dry ol' skin, a primer might stop it clinging to drier areas. At £9.99, it's worth a try and it isn't dissimilar from my beloved Diorskin Nude BB cream.

  1. Thank you very much for the review! Would you also like to recommend it for a pale skin tone? :)

Thank you for the answer :)

    1. This shade may work if you are slightly paler than me. Looking at your fabulous pale skin, it might be a little too dark, but as it is a sheer formula, it could be worth a try. :)
