Autumn Make-up Trend: Matte Nudes

Left to right: Bourjois CC Cream; Benefit They're Real mascara; Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow; Mac Kid eyeshadow; Rimmel Notting Hill Nude lipstick; Mac Tenderling blush; Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in Underground; Nars Creamy Concealer

Word about town is nudes are in for Autumn. I've seen nude matte lips on many blogs recently which is part of the 90s revival apparently! I say 'apparently' because to me, the 90s were only yesterday and it surely can't be time for a revival yet? (That's when you realise you're getting old!)

Anyway, trend or no trend, I love nude make-up. I love it because it's practical and work-friendly and natural. It also looks so classy in my opinion.

Today's make-up look is based around some of the nudest shades in my collection:

Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow: I think I got this before getting the original Naked Palette which contains this shade. It's a light, soft brown which looks neutral to me. It is great for a wash over the lid, especially if you're doing 5-minute-make-up.

Mac Kid eyeshadow: This is another light brown matte, but it is deeper in tone and cooler than Naked- perfect for subtle crease definition.

Rimmel Notting Hill Nude lipstick: This beautiful moisturising nude pink is not far from my natural lip colour, but it has some brown in it to give a really classy, effortless look. This is not a matte shade, but my lips do not like the dryness of matte lipsticks, so this cream finish works for me. This shade is still available to buy, so get it while you can!

Mac Tenderling blush: This matte blush is a sheer brown pink and perfect for fairer skins. It is in many ways a sensible, office-friendly shade, but don't let that dissuade you from it. Within its subtlety lies its beauty.

Urban Decay Underground 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil: This stunning metallic taupe shade is my favourite pencil for jazzing up neutral make-up looks. It is a perfect bronzy-taupe that looks lovely on the waterline.

Here is the final look:
