My Limited Edition Mac Lipsticks

Left to right: Peachstock, Innocence Beware! , Betty Bright, Red Racer, Love Goddess
I posted about my Mac lipstick collection back in March, deliberately leaving out the section of limited edition shades that I own. I wanted to do these separate because, with the exception of Peachstock which I believe is now part of the permanent collection, the colours are not available to buy. Saying that, we all know that Mac has so many lipstick shades available, so you are bound to find a permanent shade that is similar.

Here are the shades I own, modelled on my lips for your entertainment!

Peachstock (Satin) was originally released with the Give Me Liberty of London collection in 2010. I can remember this was the first collection that I was really crazy for as I absolutely loved the packaging and the promo images. This peach shade is a neutral peach. I like it, but I don't wear it enough. Being a satin finish, it can be quite chalky-looking for me. I own some other bits from this collection, including a beautiful blush called Prim and Proper.

Innocence Beware! (Cremesheen) is a beautiful light, warm pink. It shows up more cool toned on my lips but I guess it would adjust to your colouring based on your original lip colour. I love this shade and it feels very nourishing as most cremesheens do. It is like a pinker version of Creme d'nude from the permanent collection. The Venomous Villains collection from later in 2010 was great fun and I own some other bits from it that I cherish.

Betty Bright (Satin) from the Archie's Girls collection of Spring 2013 was based on Archie comics. I purchased this amazing lipstick and Veronica's Blush which is also a beautiful, fun shade to wear. This is a really unique colour. Mac claims it is a 'light, vibrant peach', but to me it actually can switch between looking like a Barbie pink and a pink-coral. I love this so much because I feel confident wearing it, even though I usually shy away from bright colours.

Red Racer (Satin) is the most vibrant Mac lipstick that I own and I'm both enchanted and terrified of it! It is a bright red which has a coolness to it that makes my teeth look really white. I love owning this colour, but rarely feel daring enough to wear it. My post called Lipstick: a love/ hate relationship touches on this issue! This wild shade came out with the Hey, Sailor collection in 2012.

Love Goddess (Satin) is a bright pinky-red that came out in September 2012 with the Marilyn Monroe collection. This colour appealed to me because I didn't own any vibrant pinks before I bought this and I also thought that it might be a gateway for me to wear more bright lipsticks! I'm not sure how far that worked really, but it is nice to own a few more extrovert colours for when I need to glam up a bit! Hats off to all of you out there that wear these sorts of colours every day!

I've swatched the colours here. They are in the order of my reviews from bottom to top, starting at the bottom with Peachstock.

As you can see I haven't gone mad for any limited edition collections for a while. I will be looking out for the Simpsons collection soon though- it looks very fun and colourful!
If you would be interested in seeing any other limited edition items that I have collected, I'd be happy to post about them. Let me know if you fancy that!

Which Mac collection has been your favourite to date and what did you purchase from it?

    1. I haven't bought anything limited edition for a long time now. I have my eye on the blushes from the Simpsons collection, but who knows if I'll be fast enough! Things sell out so quickly, it gets a little silly!
