Review: Burberry Light Glow Blush in Misty 08

Looking at my blush collection, I thought it was about time to put the spotlight on Misty by Burberry. For any avid readers, you may have seen me post on my Burberry purchases before (if not, click here!)

If you haven't, I'll tell you a little bit about Misty:

The shade is most appropriate for light to medium coloured skin as it is a paler pink with slight cool undertones. This is probably what drew me to it, although I have to admit that compared to some of the more vivid and vibrant colours on offer, Misty does somewhat seem like the 'wallflower' of the collection on first glance. Despite the soft  and unassuming colour of this blush, it really packs a punch in terms of pigmentation. the swatch I did for this post is just one swipe, and you can build it up nicely to a very pretty shade of pink.

This is a matte blush, so perfect for everyday wear, and it applies beautifully, lasting well throughout the day.

Maybe the ease of application comes from the silicones and wild rose extract in the product, which claim to keep skin smooth and hydrated. Some people aren't fans of silicones as they relate them to skin break-outs, so if you are prone to these, perhaps you may want to consider this if you were looking into this blush. Saying that, lots of make-up products contain silicones nowadays and many people never have any adverse reactions. Having a good skincare routine in which you thoroughly cleanse skin of all make-up and grime is key to avoid products 'hanging around' on your skin overnight.

For me, this blush is one of my favourites and I really love the natural flush of pink I am able to achieve with it. Paying almost £30 for a blush is another matter. If it's within your budget, Burberry is definitely worth exploring if you haven't already. As mentioned in my previous post, I got a significant discount as I snapped these up in a TKMaxx flashsale! That is not to say I wouldn't pay full price, but I'd need to fall in love with something to part with my hard-earned cash. Until that day, I am more than satisfied with the products I already own.

Have you tried any Burberry products?

  2. Did you see my swatches of Pale Barley here ? A good dupe is Mac's Patina, but the Burberry is really amazing, worth saving up for!
