Products I've used up: Autumn 2014

I've got through a lot of hair stuff recently. I'm always on the hunt for products to keep the condition of my hair as healthy and protected as possible. Redken is a brand I keep returning to and for good reason: the products get on very well with my thin, fine, dry and highlighted locks. The Blonde Idol shampoo is one product I will definitely re-purchase at some point. It soothes the scalp and has a light, creamy texture to treat dry, coloured hair. What it doesn't do is tone the brassiness in blonde hair, but I have other products to do that.

The Extreme conditioner is also a lovely treat for my hair type. It smells sweet and gives hair softness and protection. I like it so much that I'm planning to try the deep conditioner in the tub next for maximum hydration.

Other hair products I've used up are the Aveda Brilliant shampoo and the Dove Intense Repair shampoo- two products at different ends of the price range. The Aveda is a salon quality brand and this shampoo is quite a good clarifying option. It doesn't dry hair out, but it doesn't make it easy to comb through compared to the Dove shampoo; this nice, affordable shampoo hydrates very well, whilst not 'building up' at the roots like some cheaper options do in my hair.

Other empties this month are The Body Shop's shower gel in Fijan Water Lotus scent: a nice, fresh scent, and my all-time favourite mascara- They're Real by Benefit. I've re-purchased this many times before and will do again (once I've run out of the L'oreal mascara I currently use, and like).

A few luxuries to finish off with: Diptyque's Baies candle (well worth the extortionate price-tag in my opinion!); Emma Hardie's Moringa Cleansing Balm (the best balm cleanser that I've tried); and Sarah Chapman's Skinesis Dynamic Defense SP15 moisturiser. I purchased this in April, so it's lasted me about six months. Like many people say in reviews, it is a lovely product and really has kept my skin looking pretty smooth and nourished, considering I'm no longer a twenty-something! I would re-purchase this in the future, perhaps after I use my Caudalie Vinoperfect cream that I bought to replace the Sarah Chapman one(it's good, but no Skinesis!)

Have you tried any of these products?

  2. I love Diptyque candles! But I'm definitely a Jo Malone girl! Expensive candles are such a luxury but worth itttt (like you say!)
