In contrast to our trip the the bustling vibes of Liverpool and Blackpool, our road trip took us to the wondrous Lake District. We visited Kendal, Ambleside, Grasmere, Ullswater and Keswick and saw some impressive sights- particularly Ullwater lake and Aira Force, a fantastic area to park up and walk around. The villages surrounding the lakes can be very busy with tourists, to the point where you don't feel like you're in the peaceful countryside. Parking can be difficult to find in these busy areas (particularly Ambleside), but it is well worth going slightly off the beaten track and finding a route on foot to the lake of your choice. This is what we did with Ullswater and we managed to find a small stretch of beach on the lake where we could really take in the serene atmosphere and take some good photos.
