A Photo a Day 2020 #323

This was another shot taken in the first Lockdown which is funny to look back on because in reality this is a rather grim looking muddy dip filled with rain water. It was one of the landmarks of a daily walk around a small field. The world was so small back then! Now, in Lockdown 2, life is different. Time is scarce and pressure is high. Looking back at this muddy puddle makes me oddly content!

A Photo a Day 2020 #255

The angle on this makes somewhat of an optical illusion and I really like how the creek and sky appear almost as a painting canvas (almost an echo of a surrealist work). Pure experiment and fluke, but a nice outcome. The contrast and colour was slightly amped in post-production.

A Photo a Day 2020 #254

Rare to say, but I like this photo. It was taken on a standard kit lens that comes with the Sony camera I have, so not the perfect crispness on the zoom, but pleasing enough. I like the swan in the background closing its eyes in contrast with the hostility/ inquisitiveness of the main guy in the foreground!

Wading

I went into the river yesterday. It was raining and it felt oddly liberating! Lockdown is proving to be a bit much over the last few days.

Triptych of the Week #6

Riversides

_____________________________________________________________________________________
I took these photos on Christmas Eve 2017 on a walk around the park. They are all shots of the River Medway in Tonbridge, Kent.

I brought out the colours by shooting in 'Colour Pop' mode and managed to capture some reflections in the water.

These images capture a stillness and silence, revealing something about the secret lives of those who live by the river.

A Photo a Day #286

Watermarked

I'm not sure what to say about this one at all. Sometimes I try to find the interesting in the mundane; sometimes I succeed, other times I fail. It's all subjective of course! I'll leave it at that.

Equipment

Following on from yesterday's shot of Folkestone harbour, the light on the water here was particularly pleasing.
